​​The purpose of Missions and Ministry is sharing our Savior’s resources and compassion with those in need, in our community and beyond.  Monthly we make recommendations to the church council to disburse monies where needed in the community and the world.  On this page you can see some of the activities and missions our board supports.  Suggestions can be made through board members.

OUR WORK IS GUIDED BY GOD'S WORD FOUND IN MATTHEW 25: 35, 36, & 40: 
"For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me...Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me."​

MARSHALL COUNTY NEEDLINE​
​ Every year, St. Matthew by the Lake gives hundreds of   pounds of packaged cut up chicken to the Marshall Co.  Needline for their clients.  We also include personal notes from our church to each client receiving the packaged chicken to express our love and appreciation for their contributions to our community.

ELCA WORLD HUNGER
ELCA World Hunger’s 40 Days of Giving is an opportunity for all of us to come together to ease hunger and poverty during Lent.   Contributions can be made to St. Matthew by the Lake with your check designated for ELCA World Hunger.   You can also designate domestic or international relief.  We will be joining other churches during Lent for this worthy mission.
