Purpose Statement  

Our Christian preschool is dedicated to providing quality early childhood education for children ages three to five years old. This includes a developmentally appropriate curriculum and developmentally appropriate teaching techniques. The curriculum design is research based and is designed to reflect the philosophy that:
  • Children learn by doing
  • Children acquire mental, physical, and social knowledge through a carefully planned environment of stimulating and challenging experiences.
Accreditation

St. Matthew Christian Preschool is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and has been awarded the highest rating of 4 Stars by the Stars for Children Association.  St. Matthew's is the only 4 Star rated facility in Marshall County.

Deborah Summers




Director and head teacher, Deborah Summers graduated from Murray State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education.  She has eight years experience working in preschool.   Ms. Debbie is married to Michael, an artist from Paducah, KY.  They have one child, Autumn Lee Summers who is a Sophomore at Tilghman High School.

Lori Kuta




Lori Kuta has been involved with St. Matthew Christian Preschool since 1987.  She has an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education.  Ms. Lori and her husband Bob have 4 children and 5 grandchildren.

Wendy Sublette



Wendy Sublette has been associated with St. Matthew Preschool since 1993, serving as a substitute until being hired as a full time teacher in 1995.  She has a Child Development Associate credential.  Ms. Wendy has one daughter.
